ABOUT

Johannes Warnke is a London-based sustainable womenswear brand specialising in modern eveningwear and avant-garde performance pieces, produced ethically through custom commissions and made-to-order practices. Rooted in the founder’s background in painting and contemporary dance, the work explores movement, colour, and form as interconnected languages.

Collections are shaped through an intuitive, process-led approach, using hand-dyed, fluid fabrics and cubist-curvaceous silhouettes that respond to the body in motion. Each piece is crafted with low-waste techniques and eco-conscious materials, including botanical Tencel, cruelty-free silks, and carefully sourced deadstock fabrics. Alongside commissions, the brand offers a rental archive, reducing overproduction while extending the life and physical experience of each garment.

Johannes Warnke has presented work at Selfridges Avantgarde Gallery, Dover Street Market Paris, Fabrica X, DiscoveryLAB, the Vogue Germany event in Munich, and as part of the Fashion East June Show in 2023. The work has appeared in publications including Vogue, WWD, i-D, Perfect Magazine, Atmos, Harper’s Bazaar, Elle, NumΓ©ro, and Document Journal, and has been worn by artists such as BjΓΆrk, Grimes, Rina Sawayama, Post Malone, Lady Gaga, and Raveena
